Grief Support
Grieving is a deeply personal experience. There is no right or wrong way to grieve, and there is no predictable timeline.
Approaching the end of life is a precious time. So many of life's demands and concerns fall away allowing for deep, intimate connections. It is also a time of loss. There is the loss of physical capabilities; diminished independence; dreams that will go unrealized and relationships that come to a close. There is grief connected with all of these. Our Doula, Jen writes about this work:
"While I cannot take away the pain, I can create a safe and supportive environment offering solace and understanding during the hard work of grieving. I provide a compassionate space for you to share your feelings and may offer techniques that can be helpful. My role is not to replace the grief, but to be a comforting presence providing perspective and empathy. I become your steady companion as you find your way along this journey from acute grieving through to a healthy integration of your loss. Together we explore and honor your unique experiences and emotions, fostering healing and understanding."
